Villa La Golondrina is a traditionally designed Mexican beach villa with modern architectural touches that is steps from the beach and located on a residential cul-de-sac. From the sun baked Saltillo floors and glossy Mexican tiles to the colorful kitchen and garden inspired bathrooms, this gracious four-bedroom villa is inspired by the classical design of a Mexican hacienda. As with the celebrated old Yucatecan fincas (ranches), the villa's four sets of French doors open to a lush, private garden and full-size swimming pool, shaded by tropical fauna and tall palms, creating a breezy indoor/outdoor experience. Rooms also have high ceilings, beautiful brickwork, and original Mexican art.
A popular gathering spot at Villa La Golondrina is the rooftop terrace, reached by the interior or exterior staircase, where guests may enjoy sunbathing by day or cocktails—with ocean views—by evening.
The owner of Villa La Golondrina has a passion for Mexico and everything Mexican. The hope of the owner is to share with guests the traditional 'ambiente' of this beautiful country, as well as the glories of the magnificent Caribbean.
A note about air conditioning: As is the case in most of the rental houses in Playa, the four bedrooms have remote controlled AC units. Common spaces have fans and French doors that allow for the lovely Caribbean breezes. Late July and August renters, in particular, should keep our AC setup in mind as this is a tropical region and summers are warm. We discount our summer rates accordingly.
We can also provide two Pack n' Plays, a high chair, and a stroller for an additional charge of $100. We also often have a few simple beach toys but can't guarantee them as guests often leave them on the beach.
Finally, please be aware that, due to climate change and fluctuating ocean currents, the Riviera Maya may experience the presence of naturally occurring seaweed during the hotter months of the year. Our neighborhood association has beach cleaners daily, and we are happy to send upcoming renters beach photos in the weeks before their trip.
