Located in a prime spot in the center of La Fortuna,This rustic ranch house & palapa was built 80 years ago by the original Mexican ranching family here in La Fortuna andwe have lovingly transformed it into a bohemian style beach lodge. You have access mere steps away tothe beach and world class waves are meters away, along with The Baja Station Cafe, several bars, restaurants and the village shop.
The house is an off-grid facility and our solar power system provides all the basic comforts including: refrigeration, unlimited high-speed Starlink internet, lights, fans and device charging capabilities.
The King Room featuresa king-size bed, a work desk, and a wardrobe crafted from a rustic wooden log frame, this bedroom invites you to experience both comfort and character. The highlight, however, lies just beyond the front window—a mesmerizing view of La Fortuna's main surf break. Watch the waves roll in and gauge the perfect surf conditions without even leaving the cozy sanctuary of your room.
This room features a window that looks into the living room, offering versatility for privacy and airflow. Keep it partially open to let in the refreshing ocean breeze on warm nights, or close it completely for a more private retreat.
For enhanced flexibility, the second bedroom features a connecting door that remains locked unless both rooms or the entire house are reserved together.
We believe community is an important part of living life to the full, so we have put effort into creating beautiful common areas to be shared by our residents and guests. These include our Palapa lounge with our giant leather sofa and hammocks that provides a nice cool area during the daytime sun to hang out and relax. There are a range of musical instruments available to play as we love music and always welcome a jam session.
Our kitchen features a giant 12-seater table allowing everyone to dine together. There is a full size fridge with gas stove and oven,freezer, dishes, utensils and pots and pans.We also have a second outdoor lounge area with fire pit, looking over the village and the Waikiki break, perfect for enjoying sundowners and starry nights.
Sustainability is a key priority for The Baja Station project which means we are working on a range of green initiatives and technologies like water recapture from our showers, composting toilets, waste recycling and upcycling and food production
Adventure and play is what we love, so there is a range of surfboards available for rent along with a range of watersports equipment and beach swag. We can also organise transport to town, surf tours and a range of other experiences in the area for you.
You will have access to your bedroom area and all common spaces including: kitchen/diner, outdoor lounge, indoor palapa living room, storage, washroom and showers.
Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to immerse you in the stunning natural beauty and vibrant local charm of La Fortuna. From inspiring views to inviting surroundings, this space is designed to bring people together and create unforgettable moments.
We live in close proximity with our neighbours and the other residents of La Fortuna, which is a quiet place. We value and encourage music making and playing, although we request our guests join us in keeping the volume to a minimum after 9pm on week days and 11pm on weekends.
